Lonato del Garda (Brescia, Italy). The fourth edition of the Summer Trophy is scheduled for next July 1-2 at the South Garda Karting circuit of Lonato. The traditional event that once took place overnight kept all its interest intact, even with daylight racing. The event will be valid this year for the Regional Championship Lombardia-Piemonte-Liguria-Valle d’Aosta and for the Rok Cup Italia North Area.
The programme schedules free practice in the morning of Saturday July 1st, while qualifying and heats will get underway in the afternoon. Heats, Prefinals and Finals will take place on Sunday July 2nd.
The winners of the past three editions in the most powerful category KZ2 were Giacomo Pollini in 2014, Massimo Dante in 2015 and Alberto Cavalieri in 2016. Alongside KZ2, the national categories 60 Mini, OK-Junior, KZ3 Junior, KZ3 Senior and KZ3 Over, KZ4 and Entry Level will partake in the Summer Trophy too.
After the three KZ2 races of the Regional Championship, Fabrizio Morardo is leading the standings, Junior Dennis Menegatti is currently topping KZ3 charts, Michele Bresaola KZ3 Under’s, while Alessandro Guggiari is leading KZ3 Over, Michele Locatelli KZ4, Giovanni De Rossi 60 Mini, and Nicolò Caserta Entry Level.
In the Rok categories, that will compete for the eighth and penultimate round of the North Area in this occasion, the Mini Rok classification is currently led by Tymoteusz Kucharczyk, who won last year’s edition of the Summer Trophy, Maciej Szyszko is leading Senior Rok, Mattia D’Abramo Super Rok and Nicola Marcon Shifter Rok. Junior Rok’s classification leader Leonardo Caglioni will not be present due to the conflicting CIK-FIA Academy Trophy race in Le Mans.
